Local & State History Collections

The following organizations focus on preserving and making available the history, life, and culture of Massachusetts. Most of them concentrate on the state as a whole or the wider New England region, while others exclusively collect the history of Hingham. These organizations hold such materials as personal and family documents (letters, diaries, etc.), genealogies, maps, photographs, drawings, paintings, textiles, objects, business records, and rare books.
